Major project to extend and improve facilities at the Woolpit Health Centre has now been completed. These works were carried out in two phases enabling the centre to offer more services to meet the increasing demand within the community.
Part of the phase one associated works was to utilise the disused internal courtyard, making way for a new administration area and extending the existing waiting area. The additional free space was also used for three new treatment rooms.
We were appointed by our client to design, supply and install the Gaia wet underfloor heating system, complete with Dial Thermostat controls to each area that the Underfloor Heating system served. On this project we used a three-layer barrier pipe, which lends extremely well to manoeuvring around tight bends and secures in place with ease, as shown below. This was installed by our in-house team and executed with great precision and efficiency in one visit, returning to commission once the project was completed.
Dr William Ridsdill Smith, a GP partner at the centre who led the project said “This was a major project that will certainly deliver long-term benefits for the local population. It will also give us the much-needed treatment rooms so that we can employ additional clinicians to deliver our services as well as deliver more training to staff.”
Account Manager Ella Robinson said of the project “This was lovely local project to work on, being a mere 500 yards or so down the road from our offices! The project presented its own minor challenges, which were of course ironed out with time to spare ahead of install to ensure a hassle-free Underfloor Heating installation for our client installed by our in-house team”.
