Project Overview
Located in the South East London suburb of Forest Hill, Taymount Mansion is a collection of one-, two- and three bedroom apartments, offering a modern art deco charm to professionals, couples and families alike.
Having successfully completed two other projects for developer Hambridge Homes – and boasting over 35 years of underfloor heating experience – Gaia were the obvious choice for the installation of the underfloor heating for the Taymount Mansion project.
Our expert team worked closely with architect Morton Scarr from the start, providing initial design and specification support for both electric and wet underfloor heating options.
Due to budget and space restrictions, the decision was made to install electric underfloor heating throughout the apartments – saving space, offering greater flexibility and providing a low-maintenance solution for the end tenants.
Hambridge Homes were keen for us to provide the full underfloor heating, insulation and screed package for the project. We used a 50mm flow screed due to space restrictions on site and tight timescales for the overall programme.
Being involved throughout enabled us to ensure the correct floor heights were adhered to and that all works were completed within two months.
Despite challenges with freezing weather causing delays with the screed pours, we met the project deadlines, leading to excellent customer feedback and Hambridge Homes stating they would specify electric underfloor heating in two other upcoming projects.
