Project Overview
Howgate Close is a pioneering eco housing development in Eakring, Nottinghamshire which consists of nine eco homes, designed to be a replicable template for rural housing.
The development provides local people who have been priced out of homeownership with high quality affordable homes – offering low running costs, low maintenance and access to the open countryside.
We delivered the design, supply and installation of electric underfloor heating systems for each of the nine properties, with our expert team fitting 1KW DEVIflex mats throughout the single-storey homes.
Our electric underfloor heating is a back-up to the energy generated from 138 roof-mounted photovoltaic (PV) panels.
With exceptional Design SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) Ratings of 131A and 143A, the one- and two-bed dwellings are rated in the top 0.01% of the 14 million registered Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in the UK.
In its first 10 months, energy bills averaged less than £1 per day in all nine homes, falling to 54 pence per day as of 12th July 2023.
It was great to be involved in a project which so closely aligned with the sustainability our systems deliver.
Since completion of the project, the development has been featured on Channel 4’s “How to heat your home for less this winter” Howgate Close
